The Ramblings of a Strange Little Pixie

• My apartment is cleaned. That itself is awesome…
• Laundry is caught up!
• I got canceled today! I got the call at 5:27. It kinda sucked because I had to cut my night short last night if I had known that I was being canceled I would have stayed at the birthday party longer:(
• I have dinner in the oven and just browned a batch of ground beef to have in the freezer. I’m making baked Rotini tonight. So easy!
• I’m making blueberry bread to store in the freezer and chicken burgers tomorrow. I am determined to have stuff in the freezer!
• I have three days off!:)
• I hope we don’t get any hurricanes. I have the first 5 days of Ramadan off and I will be so bummed if I have to go in. BELCH
• I bought a beautiful black abaya yesterday. I wanted one to just throw over jeans when I go to the masjid and I found one cheap and good quality. I had been searching the internet but didn’t find anything I liked. I also got a nice book of Hadiths for DH that he wanted.
• My nieces left yesterday.:( My MIL went with them. She will be spending this Ramadan with her daughters which I’ really happy about but I’m really going to miss her. Also, DH’s cousin is moving 2 hours away the first day of Ramadan. So sad….
• I am slowly working on my computer room. I have one bookcase and my desk organized. I’m working on second bookcase tonight. I have found a daybed from Ikea to put in here. My MIL was going to give me hers when she moves but that was a year ago and I can’t wait any longer. I would like gues to have a place to sleep!
• I am so excited about Ramadan!!! I will post about that tomorrow.
• I got my birthday present early, My mommy got me a WI! I have been wanting one forever and one showed up on my doorstep yesterday!:)
• I’m off to scrapbook!!! I am doing really well on keeping up to date on my book, now I just need to get caught up!

• We went to Orlando for a weekend in July. It was fun. Saw old friends from Chicago, went to a huge family wedding and got to spend some time together. We even took the cats!:)
• My nieces are here and we are having a blast. I’ve taken them to the zoo, build a bear and the beach. We are headed to the beach in Miami on Saturday. Yeah!
• Work is crazy and busy. What’s new. I really hate my job sometimes. I love being a nurse I just hate my particular job. Why did I pick tele?!?
• I got my year review. It was good, I got my raise. All is good.
• I’m actually keeping my scrapbook up to date. I am making time, though I am following behind on my goal of organizing.
• I’m very excited about this Ramadan. I have the first five days off and I took vacation time for the last week. I tried for two weeks but I could only get one. But hey I’m happy. Someone tried to switch days with me and I had to explain that I will not because of Ramadan and they still try to get  me to switch, WTH? If I make my schedule a certain way it’s for a freaking reason…..
• I am going to start cooking next week. I’m going to make some quiches, breads, a lasagna, meatloaf, and some chicken dishes to freeze. Wish me luck!
• I am also going to keep a small scrapbook/journal this Ramadan. I figure this will keep me motivated. Last year was miserable for me. I guess because of the new job and I was super stressed.
• I have insomnia. I can’t not sleep without waking up 3-4 times and then I have the hardest time falling back to sleep. I’m going crazy! I can’t see the doctor until Sept. and I have tried everything! But I’m really happy I got an appointment with this Doctor. She is is excellent. She use to be an RN and from what I heard she actually spends time with you and LISTENS!

Well, I’m off to enjoy the rest of my day! Back to work tomorrow!!! But at least I have the weekend off! And it’s going to be a fun weekend! The beach on Saturday and a friends baby shower on Sunday!!! Ciao!
