The Ramblings of a Strange Little Pixie

The hospital called today!!! I have an interview Tuesday!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I really, really want this job. It’s a magnet hospital and they treat their employees really well. I thought I would be taking a pay cut but they pay more than my last job!!!:) Woo-hoo!!!

I have spent the last couple of hours browsing thru Ali Edward’s blog and came across some really good inspirations for pages. I also love how she uses 12×12 cropper pages in her albums. I am so stealing that! I was debating on weather to switch from using post to the rings and I think the next album I buy may be a ring album. Post can be a pain in the bum.

So things I got done today:

1. Used mud mask that I have had for at least two months.    My face feels wonderful.
2. Updated some addresses in phone book.  I only did A-B this week. I need to update for invitations and I figure if I do a couple every week then it won’t be so overwhelming.
3. Made it to the gym.   Had an awesome workout.
4. Made it to the grocery store.  I only managed to buy one junk item. Mini chips ahoy. Well, they are mini!
5. I finished my closet!!!!!!  My next room is my bedroom. Shouldn’t be too bad. Not much stuff in there:)
6. I did two loads of laundry.
7. I organized photos from Oct. up to July of 2007.  I have put stuff in too my album that I want to scrap, put ones that I want to print in a special Shutterfly folder, uploading them onto shutterfly and sent them to friends and family. I have them ready for cd’s on my computer. I want to wait until I have them all into categories before making cd’s. I have realized that I take crap load of pictures.

So I’m having pain on my left side and I’m hoping that I’m ovulating. I have been on the pill since my ectopic and I haven’t had a period since then. So I decided to stop taking the pill until I get my period to make sure everything is kosher down there. I really don’t want any fertility issues. The doc says I shouldn’t have any problems but the tubes scar so easily I’m afraid that the left one may be damaged. I guess I will have to wait and see.

So I am off to organize some more photos.:) Fun for me!!!

I hope that everyone who has a long weekend is enjoying it. I am. I took yesterday and today off.:) I seriously did nothing productive yesterday. I watched the race, went to Target to pick up kitty food, went over to MIL to eat dinner and then went to a restaurant that was having a celebration for Guyanese independence day. I did however, manage to finally get all three of my memory cards uploaded onto my computer and onto shutterfly. Finally!!! I had pics from Oct. on there. Craziness.

Today I’m just going to straighten up and go to a cookout at our Auntie’s. She’s having halal steak! YUM!!! I also am going to be somewhat productive and clean up a little. Take one day off and the whole house goes kaput.

I’m going to have to really get serious this week about some things. I’ve been way to lazy and I have lots to do! Things on my list:

1. Finish my closet. I only have one shelf left and it’s cleaned and organized.  Next project my bedroom.
2. Finding a job has to be a priority. Even if it means working nights which I will hate.
3. Wedding planning. Um, I need to start getting those small details out of the way.
4. Getting a passport. I’m going to Trinidad in July! It’s only for a long weekend but I am super excited!!
5. Need to buy cards and new dress for wedding season. We have at least 4 as of right now. Hopefully there are no surprise weddings like last year. I have one outfit for a nikkah that I nee to get altered. My SIL gave me two outfits last year from India, all I have to do is get them hemmed.
6. Get back on a healthy diet and exercise routine. I have been slacking so bad. I feel awful and all my jeans are too tight. BAH! Treadmill here I come!

I had to call mom, who is out running errands, that our girl is out of the race.:( Dania Patrick will not be finishing the Indy 500 this year and I must say I’m heartbroken.

I’m sitting here watching the Indy 500 and being home sick.:( I don’t get homesick much but I have been missing Indy for some odd reason. I guess it might be time for a trip home but that will have to wait till next summer. I’m cheering on Danica but I don’t think this will be the year. All, well there is always next year!

I’m sitting here having an extremely lazy day. I didn’t even make the bed. I never do that! I’m sitting here trying to be motivated and it’s just not happening. My MIL wants to head out to Aventura Mall but I’m not sure if I’m really up for that or not. I really don’t feel like dealing with the crowds. So I think I will sit here and finish the race and scrapbook. I might even get adventurous and order some pizza!!

So I’m feeling a little under the weather today. I’m achy and my throat is killing me. Great. And I have a million and one things on my to-do list. ARG! I don’t think I will be getting much done.

So I went Thursday to get a hook to hang this nice picture I bought at the Eid Bazaar last year. It’s a nice painting of a masjid and a sunset. So I go down to Lowe’s and simply ask an employee which aisle could I find a hook to hang my picture onto a wall with. Easy no? He sends me to plastic hooks, panels, bathroom mirror hooks and all the while looking at me like I’m the idiot. Really? Paneling? How in the hell do you get I need a hook to I need a panel? So finally he says “I have one more place but I don’t think it’s what you are looking for.” Guess what? It was exactly what I was looking for.

Went to dinner last night and had fun and the dinner was great but the service not so. They had one waitress on a Friday night and asking her for someone might result in getting  your head bite off. Now I know what it’s like to be the only one when it’s busy. But I’m thinking you are a waitress and being busy is part of the job. Kinda like my line of work, it’s busy as hell. You put on a fake smile and even though you are pissed off at the world. One does not have to complain that you are the only one working.

People who are just idiots. Like the solider who used the Quran as target practice. Are you freaking kidding me? What kind of moron does that in such a hostile environment. Was he wanting all hell to break loose? Not to mention it is just wrong to use any holy book as target practice. That’s just plain crazy. But what is even crazier is someone telling me yesterday that this person should be shot in the head. Um, yeah ok. I understand the significance of what he did but taking a life over it is a wee bit much.

I’m also so over the whole election and we are still only in the primaries. These people are seriously getting on my nerves. Why can’t someone good run for once? Someone that is truly a genuine person who wants to do good in the world. Whatever happened to that? Or did it ever exist?

I’ve also realized that after doing spell check that once again I have spelled environment wrong. I can never get that word right.

So it’s been one of those lazy days. I got almost everything done on my list today except finishing my closet. I blame it on the rain. It makes me ultra lazy. Going out to dinner tonight with some friends we haven’t seen in awhile. Should be fun.

So my Masha Allah list since I haven’t done one in awhile:

1. I made it to the masjid today! It’s been at least a month

2. We have more rain!:)

3. The antibiotic pills that I have to give shakes are really small so they are so  much easier to get down. He is one hard kitty to give medicine to. I’ll have to post a pic of him in his cone. He’s so cute, he keeps running into things and can’t figure out why. Keeps giving me a chuckle.

 4. My herb garden is growing like crazy!!! All except my catnip. It’s growing but not as much as my basils and pepper plant.
